The Walpole Valley Farms internship is designed for individuals who desire to have a strong background in sustainable-farming. Learn about a well-diversified farm operation.
A typical day on the farm can include daily movements of cattle & sheep to new paddocks, planning and setup of fencing and movement patterns. Daily movement of chicken tractors and the
Eggmobile. Collection of eggs, cleaning, sorting and delivery. Interaction with customers and guests. On-farm harvesting of chickens and turkeys.
You will learn how to raise livestock and market them to local consumers effectively through different channels. In the process we will share what it takes to operate a small successful business.
Work 5 days, 2 days off per week, 40-50 hours per week. Most weekends required to work, but not all. No specific work experience is required, although a good attitude is essential. Hard work is expected every day, rain or shine.

Housing includes basic accommodations, kitchen & bath. Food allowance in addition to your compensation within reason. Meat, eggs and vegetables are available to you right from our farm store.
Compensation negotiable based on experience. Usual stipend is $100/month.
Housing does not include phone or internet, although high speed wireless is available on parts of the farm. No laundry facility on-site.
Having your own vehicle is advisable.
