A typical day on the farm can include daily movements of cattle to new paddocks, planning and setup of fencing and movement patterns. Daily movement, feeding and
watering of broiler chickens and the Eggmobile. Collection of eggs, cleaning, sorting.
Deliveries to our farm-to-table restaurant & local grocery stores. Interaction with customers in our farm store and guests of our Bed & Breakfast.
On-farm harvesting of chickens and turkeys. Prepare for customer sales in our farm store & get shipments ready. We also do some work with fruits and vegetables, harvesting and canning.
You will learn how to raise livestock sustainably and direct market them to local consumers at our farm to table restaurant, The Hungry Diner, and at our busy Farm Store. In the process we will share what it takes to operate a
small successful business with some small business training.
Second-year Apprentice and future employment opportunities are available for those who show initiative
Work Schedule: Work 5.5 days/week. 50 hours per week.
No specific work experience is required, although a great attitude is essential. Hard work is expected every day, rain or shine.
Room & Board: Free room & board included. Housing is a shared 2-bedroom apartment with kitchen & bathroom, Wi-Fi.
There is a generous food allowance: Beef, Chicken, Pork, Turkey, Eggs, cheeses, maple syrup, honey, jams & jellies are available to you right from our farm
Compensation: Free room & board. Stipend is $800/month.
